Peter McComb graduated in medicine from the University of Western Australia in 1972. His interest in fertility promoting surgery was stimulated by training in London, England with Dr. Robert Winston and, later in Vancouver, with Dr. Victor Gomel. He also had the good fortune to perform research that is related to fertility surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is now a professor at UBC.
Over the last 23 years he has established a database to determine the success of the different types of fertility operations – especially laparoscopic and microsurgical procedures. This helps in the decision making for the best choice of treatment. It has also prompted the development of more successful surgical techniques.
With his family and friends he sails an old green boat called Contagious.
